Same Storm, Different Boats!

Amy was selected by Rheged Gallery to create an interactive art installation as part of ‘Through the Locking Glass’ exhibition’, Summer 2021. The artwork was a creative exploration of different people’s experiences of the pandemic, intended to be playful yet thought provoking and moving. Amy interpreted answers provided in a public survey including visual metaphors. The work aimed to capture the complexities of this period and in turn make sense of these stage times. The work evolved as visitors were invited to engage with the work through-out the exhibition either by filling in the survey and getting their responses added to the installation or by adding to the frieze in the form of a paper symbol. The work represented a huge range of responses, uniting them all in one piece.
